Ouarzazate, 19 - 20 September, 2015

The only bus that day from Zagora was the one to Marrakech, which we took to Ouarzazate. This is a three hour ride which leads through the anti Atlas. Narrow road with amazing views around it. The locals were all rural people, meaning they are not used to motorized transportation methods. This resulted in massive vomiting of a lot of passengers on the bus. Everybody puked in different directions, simultaneously. Dolby surround. Most people came prepared with plastic bags and some paper. They knew what is about to happen to them. We arrived in Ouarzazate by noon. We carefully moved in the bus to find a secure path to the door without stepping in something not desired. We took the taxi to the apartment we rented. It was inexpensive, for this ride we payed about 1.5 euros. Not too bad.
In the afternoon we explored the Kasbah, which is a bit outside the main neighborhoods of the town. Of course the Kasbah was there first, some hundred years before the French decided to build the city. We successfully defended ourselves from arrogant force selling tour-guides and did the tour on our own. The Kasbah is only partly open to the public, but is in a much better condition than the one in Zagora.
The town Ouarzazate is interesting. It's modern compared to Zagora. Also very French. There are French cafes with the best eclair and chocolate mousse.
The day after we wished the Atlas film studios aka. Wally-wood. A lot of movies were shot here, and the interesting thing about it is that they left all sets untouched. So we visited China of the middle ages, ancient Egypt and we were in the Judean village from the movie Passion. All sets we made our of plastic and plaster, but the outside cover of it was so real that you have the feeling you're really there. It's pretty cool.
