The Most Serene Republic of San Marino

This is the official name of the enclaved microstate surrounded by Italy.
We have visited the city in a day trip from Bologna. We took an early train to Rimini and rode the hourly bus to San Marino.
San Marino claims to be the oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic in the world, although recently it was conquered by Russian tourists, who might be the majority at any given time in the city. We walked a lot in the old town on Monte Titano enjoying a spectacular view on the surrounding hills. We visited the Palazzo Pubblico, the cathedral, and a very good restaurant.
