Arles, Les baux de Provence, St Rémy der Provence (30/11/2019)

This was a long day-trip. After breakfast we were driving all the way to Arles. Arles is an ancient cite, was for hundreds of years under Roman rule, and developed as one of the most important cities in the Roman Empire. Today it's under French control.
There is a special discount pass only valid in Arles so we bought it at the tourist information. First we bumped into a lovely weekend market:

Place de la République (surprising name):

Roman cryptoporticus:

 Theater antique:

Ancient Roman sculptures and stones anybody? Can easily fit in a cabin bag on EasyJet.

Then we walked to the major Roman Amphitheater:

Both amphitheatres are still being used as venues for plays and concerts.

Thermes de Constantin. They even had floor heating:

 The courtyard of Musée Réattu:
 Arles street:

On the way back we stopped in Les Baux-de-Provence. Lovely little town on a top of a mountain. We arrived in the afternoon, so we found a parking slot very close to the town gate. Streets full of creperies:

Next stop: Saint-Rémy-de-Provence:

This is the famous bouillabaisse of the Provence:
