From Okayama to Hiroshima

Today we took Japan's fastest train from Okayama to Hiroshima. We travelled 165 kms in 35 minutes. Yeah, it's extremely fast.

When I was here 17 years ago the city didn't leave a great imression on me, I remember it boring and not so clean. But hey, things changed a LOT. This town looks super fun with tons of bars and restaurant, as interesting as Osaka. Apprarently Hiroshima is famous for its oysters. 60% of Japan's oyster production is from Hiroshima.
Beneath the amazing additional taste palette composed by various local ingredients hide 3 big oysters who were happily alive 30 seconds before this photo was taken. The combination resulted in 3 different experiences very different each. Pure joy. Another dish I didn't take photo of was just two raw oysters with a shot of Jack Daniel's. Have you ever tried to pour a bit whiskey on an oyster? It works! Here is the trio:

Sometimes though it's good to go back to the roots, the very thing itself. Five types of raw oysters for dinner:

Look at the giant one on the right! It's amazing! An excellent source of protein.
